On Friday the renowned speaker Jennifer Siciliani who holds a doctorate in Psychone-uroendocrinology is coming to Missouri State to talk about male and female orgasms and how they relate to sexual relationships.

Currently Siciliani is a professor of psychology and the director of psychology advising at University of Missouri-Saint Louis.

Her research into the sexuality of humans has been published in many esteemed scientific journals. Siciliani's work relates to the study of immune consequences of exercise stress, exercise competition, anger, betrayal and human sexual intercourse.

Josh Edler, president of the Psychology Club and a senior majoring in psychology, said the main focus of Siciliani's lecture is her research on sexual behaviors related to sex and physiological changes that occur during intercourse and how those changes relate to happiness in relationships.

"Basically it is a behavioral and physiological perspective on sexual research," Edler said.

In an e-mail obtained by The Standard, Siciliani said, "this will be a scientific talk about a human (and sometimes animal) behavior."

Siciliani has spoken to Missouri State students before, and her speech two years ago was filled to capacity. She spoke on the topic of sexual deviance and was well received.

The reason that the psychology club chose Siciliani to speak again, Edler said, was that, "she was very successful two years ago, SAC was the one that put on her sexual deviance lecture, and we just really wanted her to come back because we thought it would be a interesting lecture and educational."

Taboo topics such as sex are ones that are not often spoken about by professors, and having a lecturer come to Missouri State will be sure to inform audiences about changes in the body during sex and also how sex can affect your relationships.

"Sex has a wide range of effects on our relationships whether it is your marriage partner or pre-marital partner," Edler said.

Siciliani will be presenting today from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Plaster Student Union Theater.

"Two years ago they had to turn people away, and this year I expect we will have to turn people away if they do not show up early enough for the event."
