Anyone planning on dressing up like Mexican food for Halloween may want to stop by Chipotle for dinner on their way out for the night.

Chipotle is offering a free burrito to anyone who comes in dressed like a Chipotle burrito, taco, bowl or salad between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. tomorrow night.

"I'm not sure of anyone who is doing this for sure, but I have heard a lot of comments about it while working," Kayla Baldwin, a sophomore business major, said. Baldwin is an employee at the restaurant.

Shannon Taylor, a manager at Chipotle, said she has also received a lot of feedback about the event, and people are always commenting about the flyer posted by the register.

"I'm all about free food and costumes, so anytime the two can be combined sounds good to me," Kirsten Iversen, a Missouri State alumnus, said. "If I didn't have to work Halloween night, I would be all over that."

The store, which opened in June and is the only Chipotle location in Springfield as of now, will be participating in the Halloween event for the first time. Other Missouri stores have held this event in the past.

"When I worked at one of the Kansas City stores, people got really into it," Taylor said. Taylor was a manager there before the Springfield location opened and said that particular store had a good turnout.

The restaurant chain is planning on opening a second location closer to the Missouri State campus. Located at St. Louis Street and National Avenue, the restaurant is set to open next February, Taylor said.
