A group of dance students will see the culmination of two years of work this weekend at Coger Theatre in Craig Hall.
The dance department is holding free concerts Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The dances in the concert are choreographed by dance majors as part of a two-year dance composition series.
"In this series, the students learn how to create movement to express their emotions or ideas. They also learn how to use the dance space with a number of dancers and how to use music to compliment their movement," said junior Ashley Ann Hendrix, a dance major.
Hendrix will be one of the student choreographers featured in the concert.
Her piece "Condemned," is about the struggle between good and evil.
Each piece will have a different idea or concept, along with being choreographed by the student writers.
Other students choreographers include senior dance majors; J. Mackenzie Huley, Mary McEntee, Sarah Martin, Shana Kinder and Teresa Simpson.
