Well, it's that time again. As the season changes, it is bringing color to the trees and cool temperatures.
However, it is also bringing something else; the rifles.
Opening day for the firearm deer season starts tomorrow a half hour before sunrise until a half hour after sunset on Nov. 20. This day beckons many hunters all over the area, including many Missouri State students, faculty and staff.
According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, firearm deer season has five portions: urban counties, youth, November, muzzleloader, and antlerless. The portions are basically different "mini-seasons" where deer can be hunted in specific places using specific methods for that portion.
The November portion is what is starting tomorrow. This is a statewide hunt where anybody with a hunting permit can use certain regulation firearms to kill one deer with antlers as well as other deer without antlers.
