In regards, to Garretson's article, "Sports offer minimal entertainment, useless" I must say that when reading your article, which I must admit I usually enjoy, at 8 a.m. this morning I was filled with a certain feeling, let's call it anger followed by indifference. It is obvious that you don't understand the sport of football or the benefits that arise for the people who choose to partake in it. I don't wish to bash your article, only correct some certain claims you have made. Football can be played by anyone, women are more than welcome to play, Colorado had a female kicker a couple of years ago. You say that you don't wish to criticize our football team but then throughout your editorial you tell us how gay we are. I fail to see how we aren't supposed to be upset about your article. You have upset the entire team with your unfounded claims. You begin your article with a statement about how any of your encounters with "ball players" end in physical harm. In closing I would like to apologize to you because the "ball players" at your high school picked on you and subjected you to taunting and abuse, but I refuse to believe that it is merely because said persons are "ball players" that they have inflicted pain upon you, it's probably more due to your lack of thinking before opening your mouth.
