With the NFL season just over the midway point, teams are starting to look forward to the playoffs. Especially New England. Here is my rundown:
AFC
1. New England Patriots (9-0) - Brady. Moss. Belichick. If you don't know why they are No. 1, then you don't follow football and shouldn't be reading this article.
2. Indianapolis Colts (7-2) - Even with two bad games in a row, (one was New England, the other was Vinatieri), they are still the Super Bowl Champions and will be there come January.
3. Pittsburgh Steelers (7-2) - With Ben Roethlisberger and Willie Parker leading the offense and with the No. 1 overall defense, this team is built for a major playoff run.
4. San Diego Chargers (5-4) - Even if he hasn't done anything this semester, San Diego still has LT. As long as Philip Rivers doesn't mess things up, they will win the West.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars (6-3) - Even though they are tied with the Titans at 6-3, they proved they are the better team last week. They always find a way to win, but have some good teams left; they will finish 10-6.
6. Cleveland Browns (5-4) - Why not cheer for the Browns? The team was so bad a few years ago, fans wore paper bags to games. They are the feel good team of the year and have a very favorable schedule left.
NFC
1. Dallas Cowboys (8-1) - Tony Romo is a stud for the Boys, especially when he doesn't go against the Pats. Coach Phillips needs to plan for what the team is going to do during their playoff bye week.
2. Green Bay Packers (8-1) - The Pack is back. With the best passing offense in the league and an ever-improving defense, this team will be a force in the playoffs, especially in the snow at Lambeau Field.
3. Seattle Seahawks (5-4) - In the West, 9-7 will probably win the division. The Seahawks are the closest to nine wins; therefore, they get the nod.
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-4) - With a talented defense designed by the genius defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, and an offense that won't lose games for them, they are an easy choice to come out of the South.
5. New York Giants (6-3) - They are the third best team in the conference, but due to the way seedings go, they will be the fifth team in the playoffs. Manning better not blow it for the G-men.
6. Detroit Lions (6-3) - For the first time since Barry Sanders was in the backfield, it looks like their Thanksgiving game is going to matter. Offensive coordinator Mike Martz is making Jon Kitna look good, for once.
Super Bowl Favorites:
The Patriots-Cowboys for the title is the smart money for anyone picking right now, but my upset special will be the Steelers over the Packers to win their second title in three years.

The Steelers might make it past the Patriots but the Cowboys WILL be in the Super Bowl, NOT the Packers!
