Ah, back to school. And just in time, too - I've been looking for a reason to procrastinate for, like, two months now. And what a crazy break it's been, what with all the politicking and whatnot.

Barack Obama was prophesied to be the winner in New Hampshire by a million points, but Hillary came out on top after a heartfelt near-cry. The results were enough to disillusion even Anderson "Dreamiest-Eyes-in-News" Cooper.

After the results, I decided to do a little poll myself. Of all those surveyed, a full 50 percent said the misleading polls didn't bother them. The other 50 percent said it's forever tarnished their view of political polls, and the remaining 25 percent said poll results are usually flawed anyhow.

It's been a really interesting political season, though. It was sickly sweet to see my predicted Dem Enemy Number One, Mike Huckabee, win the Iowa caucus, but sort of relieving to see him tank in New Hampshire.

But the big news, to me, is the potential new Independent Party. Ron Paul, who would be a fool not to run as an independent after he inevitably loses the Republican nomination, is more popular than any pseudo-independent in recent memory (though the impact of Ron's recently revealed racist ranting remains reticent).

Side note - I would like to applaud my own awesome alliteration in that last paragraph. And to you, reader, I say you're welcome.

What with Paul's success, Mayor Bloomberg's rumored independent run and Lou Dobbs' new book (I think it's titled "Screw the Immigrants!"), it looks like the impossible is in sight - we may be on the verge of a three party system. And, irony of ironies, it's the Republicans who're ushering in this golden age.

In entertainment news, the writers' strike sucks. How bad things must be when even the Daily Show is boring. The strike did fix the Golden Globes, though. I've always said awards shows would be a lot more entertaining without all that entertainment standing in the way.

awesome article. I enjoyed your alliteration and the newly coined term "bobble bodies".

Every single time I pick up the Standard, it is this columnist that makes it worth it every single time.
