Jackson leaves team
The Lady Bears' roster was trimmed to 10 after freshman guard Janette Jackson left the team for personal reasons. Jackson is the third Lady Bear this season to quit the team and seek a transfer.
Jackson played in 11 of the team's 15 games, averaging 0.7 points, 0.9 rebounds and 6.5 minutes per game.
Junior Breton Wyatt and sophomore Ashley Lord left the team in December. Junior Jamie Adams, a member of the volleyball team, walked-on for the Lady Bears to fill the void.
Terwelp riding hot streak
Senior center Tiff Terwelp has returned to last season's form in the past three games. After averaging 5.8 points per game in the Lady Bears' first 12 games, she has averaged 15 points in her last three games.
Last season, Terwelp averaged 10.2 points and 8.6 rebounds, and her recent stretch of strong play has raised her season average to 7.6 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.
Lineup set
After coming off the bench for the first eight games, 3-point sharpshooter Melissa Busby has started the last eight.
Busby is averaging 12.9 points per game during her seven-game starting streak, and it appears head coach Nyla Milleson has found a solid fifth starter to go with Maggie Dwyer, Tahnee Balerio, Terwelp and Marisha Brown.
Nine different Lady Bears have started this season, but the lineup has not changed since Missouri State played Oral Roberts on Dec. 15.
Busby leads the Lady Bears with 29 3-pointers this season.
