Popular musician Jon Robert will perform in the Plaster Student Union food court tonight at 7 p.m.
Robert was featured on the TV series "The Hills" and has been named MTV and Epic Record's artist of the week.
Jennifer Huenefeld, concert chair of the Student Activities Council, came in contact with Robert through the National Association for Campus Activities. She said he made a very good impression with his great voice and soulful lyrics.
Robert is a Boston-based singer/songwriter and has spent the last year recording, promoting and touring his latest album rele-ase "Racing The Sun," which features his hit single "Only In Your Eyes," according to the artist's Web site.
Although the concert is being held in the food court, Huenefeld said Robert would be performing on stage.
"We thought that this would be a new way to try to do a few concerts," she said.
Huenefeld also said she is hoping the concert's location will result in a big turnout to Robert's concert.
"The show is in the food court of the PSU, so we're hoping that people will come over to eat dinner and see a great show," she said.
The concert is free to current students, faculty and staff.
