Missouri State soccer Bears knocked off Bradley in the semifinals of the MVC Men’s Soccer Championship tournament 1-0.
This win marks the Bears’ 10th straight conference win and 14th straight win overall as they advance to the MVC Finals for the fourth time in five years.
Both teams started the game off with tons of energy and a lot of aggression.
Bradley played a lot of defense in the first half, but in the 32nd minute of the game, Josh Dolling scored a goal on an assist from Aadne Bruseth.
Going into the second half, Bradley remained scoreless as the Bears continued to play hard and got the shutout victory.
“Great win to get to the Valley final,” head coach designate Michael Seabolt said.” I am proud of the guys, another shutout which is awesome.”
Coming into this matchup, four Bears were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, redshirt senior defender Kyle Hiebert, junior midfielder Kian Yari, junior forward Jon Koka, and redshirt senior goalkeeper Michael Creek.
Going into their next game against Evansville, Creek said the team focuses on taking their games one at a time.
“There’s a lot of hard work going into it, we’re focused on the next game,” Creek said.” Pretty much every game this season we’ve been thinking about the next games, taking it one step at a time.”
Next up for the Bears, they play Evansville in the championship game. They have played Evansville twice during the regular season and won both matchups.
The championship game starts at 1 p.m. in Springfield.
