After defeating Evansville 2-1, the Missouri State men’s Bears move to 6-1, and remain unbeaten at home.

This win also marks the Bears’ second win in Missouri Valley Conference play.

The Bears were the first to strike, scoring a goal in the 8th minute from senior forward Aadne Bruseth on an assist from sophomore defender Adrian Barosen. 

Senior midfielder Jack Denton was able to score Missouri State’s second goal in the first half in the 20th minute on an assist from junior midfielder Kian Yari. 

Evansville would answer back in the 42nd minute in the first half after a goal from Michael Creek. 

The Bears would hold the lead going into the second half, and turned towards their defensive game. Missouri State outnumbered Evansville in both total shots, with 18-4, and shots on target, with 8-2. 

“We had stretches where we played very well. We’re still looking to put together our best game, and we’ll do that as the season progresses and we keep improving,” head coach designate Michael Seabolt said in an MSU release. 

Missouri State hosts Drake in their third game in conference play, Wednesday Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. Drake currently sits behind the Bears in the MVC standings.
