Men’s soccer Bears defeated Loyola Chicago in their final game of the regular season.

Following a scoreless first half from both teams, the Bears knocked off Loyola 2-1 to remain undefeated  at home and extend their winning streak to 13.

The first half was quiet, however Missouri State pushed the pace of the game by attempting six shots.

Sophomore forward Jesus Barea kicked in the Bears’ first goal in the 48th minute on an assist from senior forward Nicolo Mulatero.

In the 56th minute senior forward Josh Dolling scored his third goal of the season on an assist from Barea, extending the lead to 2-0.

After a scuffle between the two teams in the 65th minute, Loyola was rewarded with a penalty kick from senior forward Billy Hency, which he scored on.

It was a back and forth affair for the rest of the match with both teams remaining aggressive, but the Bears’ defense was just too much for the Ramblers as they finished this game and won their 10th conference game of the season.

“Loyola is a very good team and gave us everything we could handle tonight,” said head coach designate Michael Seabolt in a Missouri State press release.

The Bears now look to play in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament as they host the semifinal round.

Missouri State will play either #4 seed Evansville or #5 seed Drake on Friday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m.
