Missouri State Athletics was awarded the 2011-2012 Missouri Valley Conference All-Sports Trophy for the fourth time in school history, the league announced on Monday, May 21.
The last time MSU won the award was 2002-03.
MSU Athletics captured five conference championships and four runner-up finishes this school year. This year's win marks the 19th time in the past 21 years that MSU has come away with a top-four finish.
The average league finish of MSU's 13 MVC-sponsored teams was 2.62.
Director of Athletics Kyle Moats said he was happy for all of the athletic teams who contributed to the overall success.
"I am very proud of our student-athletes who work so hard to represent our university, community and alumni every time they compete," he said in a press release. "Our goal is to be a successful, broad-based program in which we are competing for championships and the All-Sports Trophy every year. I know our coaches have bought in to those goals, and it was very evident this year. I commend them for their excellent work as well."
These teams won MVC titles this year:
• Women's swimming and diving
• Women's indoor track and field
